Iris Harp Duo

Keziah Thomas – harp and Lucy Melvin – violin

Saturday 23rd September 2023. 7.30pm North Curry Parish Church.

The Iris Harp duo is named after Keziah’s harp which was made in the 1980s by the Italian maker, Salvi. The romantic combination of violin and harp was explored in 1907 by Camille Saint-Saens who wrote the Fantaisie for Violin and Harp which Keziah and Lucy have included in their programme for this concert.

As well as a selection of French music for harp and violin, they will be performing some more recently written works including a piece by Rebecca Clarke called Midsummer Moon, and 2 short pieces for solo violin by Deborah Pritchard, written in 2021.  As a special request, they have included some arrangements of their favourite film scores arranged for violin and harp.

Programme includes works by Camille Saint-Saens, Marcel Tournier, Rebecca Clarke, Deborah Pritchard, Giovanni Battista Martini and a selection of some of their favourite film scores, arranged especially for this concert – including Once Upon A Time In The West by Ennio Morricone.
